Oakton Academy’s SAT/PSAT program is designed for students who need more than generic practice problems. The program combines Digital SAT content review, timed practice, careful score analysis, and coaching on how to read, reason, and work under time pressure.
The legacy Oakton program has served students from TJ, Oakton, Madison, McLean, Langley, Chantilly, Centreville, Fairfax, and nearby Northern Virginia schools. Families have reported outcomes ranging from meaningful section gains to top SAT/PSAT scores, including multiple reported perfect SAT scores in past years.
What students work on
- Digital SAT reading and writing question types
- Grammar, usage, transitions, rhetorical purpose, and evidence questions
- Vocabulary-in-context and close reading of historical, science, social science, and literary passages
- SAT Math concepts, calculator strategy, and efficient problem solving
- Pacing, accuracy, elimination strategy, and review habits
- Practice-test reflection: what went wrong, why, and how to improve next time
Teaching approach
Students learn strategies, then immediately apply them through short drills, section practice, and mock-test review. The goal is not memorizing tricks — it is building reliable habits for a high-pressure exam.
Depending on the session, the program may include separate English and Math blocks, intensive summer sessions, or school-year review classes. Families can use the portal schedule or contact Oakton Academy to choose the right format.
